Historic

In 1979 we made, rather tentatively, a batch of Chenin Blanc and some Grey Riesling, affectionately remembered as “the green torpedo." Forty years later, we still produce our beloved Chenin Blanc from the vines that have passed the 55-year old mark, as well as our historic Tinto field blend and a dozen other small batch wines. Over the years we have tried to keep our production small, costs down, and make great wine at affordable prices by doing a lot of work ourselves.

It seems to me that after all these years the achievement of the Casa is its success at remaining what it is (and was) - a place where the farmer is transformed by the land, and not the other way around.
